It’s been a happy month for Bollywood Tweeples around the world every since Bollywood Badshah Amitabh Bachchan joined a growing number of Bollywood stars by signing up for the microblogging website, Twitter. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan joined Twitter in the last six months, presumably to promote their respective film projects, but who knew the Big B would take to Tweeting?
The actor’s bio on his page reads “Actor … well at least some are STILL saying so !!” Perhaps his infamous blog (where he’s known to go off on a variety of controversial topics), hinted at the elder Bachchan’s growing social media prowess. Currently, Bachchan follows only five people: Shah Rukh Khan, veteran Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor, marketing consultant Suhel Seth, cricketeer Sachin Tendulkar and Bachchan’s son, the actor Abhishek Bachchan. At the moment, the Big B is at about 100,000 followers, but we’re betting it’s not long until he surpasses Sachin, who currently has close to 400,000 folks following him on Twitter. Dishoom, baby!
